This financial services company was assisting consumers with debt management and personal finance planning. Its industry had grown dramatically, and complaints had arisen at the state and federal levels about the level of fees charged relative to its competitors. This client was targeted by two separate congressional committees for investigation.


It was essential for us to communicate all the benefits the company was delivering to consumers and why it was a model provider of education and support for consumers in financial difficulty. As the investigations continued, we worked closely with management, and legal and government affairs counsel to help legislators understand the company’s practices.


We provided testimony to a House Committee as part of a broad communications and engagement strategy that included close management of the media coverage. Our testimony helped the committee members understand the value being delivered to consumers.
