Standard Life Investments Crosses the Atlantic
Situation
Standard Life Investments was well-known in the U.K. as a leading asset manager firm for its full range of institutional and retail investment strategies. Under its CEO, Keith Skeoch, the firm was looking to expand its brand presence among North American institutional and retail investors.
Solution
Montieth & Company created a comprehensive media relations and content strategy targeted toward consultants and public pension plans.
Results
Over the course of our 9-year engagement, we secured a continuous stream of feature interviews, quote placements and op-eds in financial and trade publications for a bench of 25 spokespersons. We also launched a new strategy it created, Global Absolute Return Strategies, which would go to achieve positive fund flows of over $70 billion. We additionally provided counsel on the sale of its business in Canada, through its merger with Aberdeen Asset Management and rebrand to Aberdeen Standard Investments.
