Federal Monitor Solicits Community Feedback on Housing
Situation
The U.S. Department of Justice the U.S. Housing and Urban Development imposed strict deadlines for compliance requirements for a housing authority that provides homes to over 400,000 residents. Our client was the Federal Monitor, who engaged us as a New York public affairs firm to solicit feedback from the residents as to the housing authority’s progress towards complying with the standards upheld by the DoJ and HUD.
Solution
We created a stakeholder assessment and engagement strategy for communications for the monitorship, as well as an architecture for and the execution of meetings for the newly created community advisory committee. This committee consists of residents, community organizations, authority personnel, and federal and city government staff from key agencies.
Results
Our strategies ensured that the federal monitor met the community engagement requirements of the federal agreement.
